Bihar Jati Janganana List, also known as the Caste Census, is a comprehensive enumeration of various castes and communities in the Indian state of Bihar. This extensive survey aims to collect demographic data on the population’s social and economic characteristics, primarily focusing on caste affiliations.
The Bihar government periodically conducts this caste census to better understand the state’s social dynamics, assess the impact of government policies, and ensure equitable distribution of resources and benefits.

बिहार में जाति जनगणना के जारी आंकड़े दिखाते हैं कि राज्य में अत्यंत पिछड़ा वर्ग (EBC) की सबसे अधिक आबादी है। इस रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, बिहार में अनुसूचित जातियों (SCs) की आबादी तुलनात्मक रूप से कम है। अत्यंत पिछड़ा वर्ग (EBC) की आबादी 47,080,514 व्यक्तियों के साथ 36.01% है। वहीं, पिछड़ा वर्ग (BC) की आबादी 35,463,936 है, जो कुल आबादी का 27.12% है।
अनुसूचित जातियां (SCs) आबादी का 19.6518% है, जिसमें कुल 25,689,820 व्यक्तियां शामिल हैं। इसके बीच, अनुसूचित जनजातियां (STs) की आबादी 2,199,361 है, जो कुल आबादी का 1.6824% है। सामान्य या सवर्ण जातियां, जिन्हें अनवर्जित भी कहा जाता है, की आबादी 20,291,679 है, जो कुल बिहार की आबादी का 15.5224% है।
