Epf Interest Rate List

The EPF interest rate list refers to the annual interest rates declared by the government for contributions made to employees’ provident fund accounts. EPF is a popular social security scheme in India, where both employees and employers contribute a certain percentage of the employee’s salary to the fund. The interest rates are set by the government and are subject to periodic revisions. These rates determine the growth of the accumulated funds and play a crucial role in securing the financial future of the employees.

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is a compulsory contribution scheme for salaried employees, where both the employee and employer have specific obligations. Each month, the employee contributes 12% of their earnings to their EPF account, and the entire amount is deposited into the EPF account.

However, for the employer, only 3.67% of the employee’s earnings is contributed to the EPF account, while the remaining 8.33% is directed towards the Employees Pension Scheme (EPS). This allocation ensures that a portion of the employer’s contribution is directed towards the pension benefits of the employee, providing financial security for the future.
