The TDP MIC List is an important aspect of the Telugu Desam Party’s election strategy. MIC stands for Most Important Candidate, and the list includes the party’s strongest contenders for each constituency in the upcoming elections. The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, also known as the Andhra Pradesh Śāsana Manḍali, is the upper chamber of the legislative body of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The lower chamber is the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The Council comprises 58 members and is located in Amaravati, the legislative capital of the state.
The Sasana Mandali has had two periods of existence: from 1958 to 1985, and from 2007 to the present. The Andhra Pradesh government has passed a resolution to dissolve the house, but it requires ratification by parliament.

Membership and Tenure
The Legislative Council is a permanent house that cannot be dissolved, comprising of 58 members who are elected for a six-year term. Every two years, one-third of the members retire in rotation and undergo the process of re-election. To be eligible for membership, an individual must be a citizen of India and at least 30 years old.
The Governor of Andhra Pradesh nominates eight members, while 40 members are elected by an electoral college comprising of the Legislative Assembly and local governing bodies. The remaining 10 members are elected from constituencies consisting of college graduates and teachers.
