About Femina Miss India Competition
Miss India is a national delight show in India that yearly chooses beautiful ladies to participate in Miss World competition. Miss World is one of the big four noteworthy worldwide excellence shows. Miss India is sorted out by Femina, a ladies magazine distributed by The Times Group. Femina additionally arranges Miss Diva independently since the year 2013, which also sends women to take part in Miss Universe.
The first Miss India was Pramila from Calcutta, who won in 1947. The local press organised it. Indrani Rehman after being crowned Miss India 1952. She was the first Indian woman to participate in the Miss Universe held in the United States in 1952.
Historically, the Femina Miss India pageant sent the winner to the Miss Universe pageant and a runner-up to Miss Asia Pacific pageant and on some occasions, the 2nd runner-up used to represent India at International Teen Princess contest. During some special occasions, the top finalists have represented India at some other international pageants like Miss Heritage, Miss Tourism International, Miss Tourism. Femina Miss India also sends representatives to other international pageants like Miss United Continent and Miss Universal Peace and Humanity.
Manasa Varanasi, an engineer from Telangana, was named winner of the VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 on 10 February 2021. Haryana’s Manika Sheokand was declared VLCC Femina Miss Grand India 2020, while Manya Singh was crowned runner-up of the pageant.
